Southampton defender Armel Bella-Kotchap is on Juventus’ list of options to replace Leonardo Bonucci, who has been informed he is not a part of the club’s plans moving forwards.

That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who say the Italians are scouring the market for defenders to replace the iconic Italian.

They explain that Bonucci is currently training on vacation, away from Juventus, where he will return on Monday for pre-season.

That is despite being told by the club he is free to leave as he is no longer a part of their or manager Max Allegri’s plans for the team.

Bonucci doesn’t care about that and wants to finish his career at the Italian giants, perhaps proving them wrong and working his way back into the team.

Juventus are pushing on regardless, though, and ‘scour the market’ for replacements, particularly as alongside Bonucci, all of their other defenders, bar Danilo and Gatti, are up for sale.

Southampton defender Armel Bella-Kotchap is one of the players they are looking at, with it believed he is available thanks to the Saints’ relegation to the Championship last season.

Several reports have made it clear he could be moved on as a result, particularly if he wants to be part of Germany’s squad for the European Championship next year.

Juventus are seemingly eyeing up the chance to take advantage of that, although there is no mention of a Southampton asking price at this point.

Indeed, Bella-Kotchap is very much an idea rather than anything else for now, but certainly a name to keep an eye on moving forwards.
