Souhtampton are interested in FC Nantes youngster Stredair Appuah, according to claims from France today.
L’Equipe features a story highlighting the talents from the French side’s Youth League team, which got to the semifinals this season.
It’s said that Appuah is one of those drawing some interest. Southampton reportedly received information about him and ‘could make an offer’ very soon.
The Saints aren’t alone in the race, though, as Clermont also enquired about the conditions for a transfer.
L’Equipe claims that at this stage, Nantes are not interested in selling, so it seems it will take a convincing offer to make the move possible.
The story highlights that Southampton will be playing for promotion at the weekend, so it’s very possible that a place in the Premier League will give them a bigger chance.
Appuah, who turns 19 in June, is only getting started at Nantes, and made nine appearances for their first team so far. So it seems clear that the Saints became interested after what he’s been showing for the youth ranks so far.
