Southampton’s ‘concrete proposal’ for Mattias Svanberg has ‘arrived at Bologna’ in the last few hours, according to today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.
Napoli ‘like’ the midfielder but have not made an offer for him so far. The Naples club have informed his entourage that they would like to have him next season.
The 23-year-old, on the other hand, is ‘extremely attracted’ to the Premier League, where Southampton are in the picture to sign him.
His agent went on a tour, including England, and for now the Saints have come forward with a €10m offer. The player’s current deal runs down in 2023 and he’s already refused to sign a new deal with the Serie A side.
This may force Bologna to accept Southampton’s proposal and try to get a percentage from his future sale.
Having already made a ‘concrete offer’, Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side are ‘willing to get serious’ to secure the Sweden international’s services.
The two clubs could work towards concluding any negotiations that could benefit both parties.
Svanberg is ‘extremely attracted’ to the Premier League and Southampton’s firm willingness to secure the deal could help him get a move this summer.
