Southampton and Leicester City won’t leave Portimonense alone, with their interest in Shoya Nakajima now being repeatedly pushed.

The player had been thought to be on the verge of a move to Wolves, but there seems a disagreement over price, with the Portuguese club, naturally, trying to get as much as they can.

On December 13th it was reported in Portugal that both Leicester and Southampton are ‘attentive’ to the player’s signing, as Portimonense hope for higher offers to push the value of the deal up.

A Bola report that on Friday, both clubs had someone at Portimonense’s match against Vitoria Setubal.

It’s not unusual for that to happen, and it appears they’ve both been taking notes for a while.

Given the scouting lists are official, and not the stuff of rumour, and Nakajima is easily Portimonense’s standout transfer possibility, the interest is stark.

Back in October it was reported in Portugal that Leicester were preparing a €20m offer for the player, that doesn’t appear to have gone in yet and may need to be higher.

A Bola also report that Nakajima may have played his ‘goodbye’ game on Friday, with Portimonense having no more home games before the window opens.
