If you’ve followed transfer stories throughout the past year, the name Angelo Fulgini might well ring a bell, since he was linked with Everton for a brief period.

Currently at SCO Angers, the 24-year-old is enjoying a good season in Ligue 1 with the club, and has attracted a lot of interest from clubs around Europe.

One of those, according to Le10 Sport, is Southampton, who are looking at him for the summer transfer window.

Considered by Marseille to replace Morgan Sanson, Fulgini remains on Pablo Longoria’s shortlist for next season, who will have to make do with staunch competition from the Saints.

The website states those in charge at Angers are being ‘rather greedy’ with their €15m demands, and Southampton, who were ‘already present this winter’, are expected to ‘come back to the fore in a few months’.

It’s stated the Saints tried their best in January for Fulgini, but ‘collided against the demands’ from the Ligue 1 club.

However, things could change in the summer, perhaps with more money in the bank accounts, and Southampton ‘intend to continue their shopping in Ligue 1 in the summer’ after their purchase of Ibrahima Diallo from Brest.
