Southampton flop Mislav Oršić has ‘everything agreed’ on a transfer to Trabzonspor but the Saints are refusing to move on their asking price for the player.
That’s according to Sportske Novosti, who say a deal is there to be done but Southampton’s demands are too high for the Turkish side at this moment in time.
They report that Oršić is on Trabzonspor’s radar, a fact that has been confirmed to them, and Oršić is more than keen on a potential move as he wants to get out of Southampton.
He currently finds himself in ‘imprisonment in a golden cage’ and Trabzonspor have decided to make their move for him, largely because of coach Nenad Bjelica.
He’s well aware of what his former player could offer and wants the Turkish side to get a deal done. Southampton, meanwhile, are more than happy to let him go and recover some of the money they paid in January.
Thus, there is the basis for an agreement to be found, but all three parties have their own ‘playing and business interests’ and that is causing issues.
While Oršić has ‘everything agreed’ with Trabzonspor to seal his exit, the operation with Southampton has proven to be ‘quite demanding’.
The Saints want to secure as much of the €5.75m they paid in January back and are asking for €4m for a transfer to happen.
That’s a price Trabzonspor don’t want to pay at this moment in time and, so, an agreement between clubs is yet to be struck despite negotiations having been underway for some time.
