Without a first-team appearance to his name at the age of 18, Jordan D’Ambrosio decided to run down his contract with Sochaux and try his luck elsewhere.
Fortunately for him, the young striker isn’t short of options, according to Foot Mercato in France, who believe the likes of Barcelona, Cardiff City and Southampton are all interested in his services.
Prior to the Bluebirds and the Saints coming knocking, the French outlet point out D’Ambrosio came extremely close to signing for Paris Saint-Germain last summer, which should be a good indicator, alongside the Catalans’ interest, of the talent the forward possesses.
Both Southampton and Cardiff City have ‘enquired’ recently, learning they would have to pay Sochaux €300k in formation fees to acquire the 18-year-old.
Should he choose to move to St Mary’s, he could end up teaming up with compatriots Enzo Robise (formerly of Reims) and Allan Tchaptchet (who arrived recently from AJ Auxerre) in the club’s U18s.
