When Adnan Januzaj was breaking through at Manchester United, the Belgian looked a huge talent for the present and future.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t keep up the same level of form and went on to see his career stutter. Loans at Borussia Dortmund and Sunderland didn’t work out well, and he moved to Real Sociedad on a permanent basis in 2017.
Since then Januzaj has been repeatedly linked with a return to English football and the Premier League, with multiple clubs said to have an interest in him. A Monday report from Fichajes states Southampton and Brighton are both following the 26-year-old, set up for a potential transfer tussle.
With his La Real contract expiring in June 2022, Januzaj would be available for a reasonable fee. The report explains Real Sociedad paid around €8.5m when they took the player from Manchester United, and the suggestion is they’d seriously consider a sale if anyone offered more than that.
Therefore, it’s over to Southampton and Brighton to decide whether they want to turn their interest into something more serious.
