Southampton could already be looking to life without Virgil van Dijk following claims in the French media they are giving consideration to PSG youngster Presnel Kimpembe.
Van Dijk has been attracting attention after his impressive performances this season, and Southampton will have a struggle to keep him at the club during the summer transfer window.
L’Equipe have reported Southampton are interested in Kimpembe, and could look to move in on the 21-year-old in the. With the uncertainty over the future of Van Dijk the left sided central defender is seen as possible replacement for the Dutchman.
Southampton have already made an inquiry with PSG about the France U21 international, but the French club are unlikely to sell during the January transfer window. There are even reports PSG could look to extend the contract of the young Frenchman.
Kimpembe has come through the PSG youth system, and made his senior debut for the senior team in 2014. The player has also represented the France U21 side eleven times.
