In the past few days, we saw some reports from the Italian media that Torino are set to battle Southampton for the signing of Welington from São Paulo.

Even though the Brazilian press has been claiming that the Saints already have an agreement with the player, there was insistence that the Serie A side are still alive.

Well, as Lance today shares a new story on Welington situation, they only name Southampton as a possibility for him.

As the player has a contract with São Paulo until December, the Saints are said to be in talks to anticipate the move and get him for pre-season in the coming weeks.

While the Brazilian club demand money to let Welington move now, Southampton are reported to be offering a percentage of a future transfer.

Lance simply doesn’t mention Torino, just like many other local outlets, and it once again sounds like it’s the Saints who take big steps to get the signing done.

Since São Paulo know they’re about to lose the player for free, just a little amount is needed to seal the move.
