Time after time, we see South American players claiming they dream of playing for some European giants.
Sometimes this is said by talented youngsters, which increase the rumours about their future. This is the case of Nicolás Benedetti today.
The Colombian midfielder has spoken to his followers on Instagram this week, and revealed his wish to sign for the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona.
“I have many clubs that I have always dreamed of, like Manchester United when I was little. Now I have dreamed of playing for Barcelona. That is work and sacrifice, but you have to dream big”, he said (via Gol Caracol).
Signed from Deportivo Cali in a €5m deal in last year, Benedetti currently plays in Mexico for America. He had a knee ligament injury in March, and luckily for him, he’s not missing so many games since the league was stopped due to Coronavirus.
He was part of Colombia’s U23 squad which played the Pre-Olympic tournament this year, and even though the competition was hosted in his home country, they didn’t clinch a place in the Olympics, since Brazil and Argentina got the qualification.
