Argentine side Estudiantes announced today the transfer of Dario Sarmiento to Manchester City.
On their website, the La Plata side wrote that the 18-year-old winger will be joining the Premier League club on the 1st of July.
They point out that Sarmiento was the second youngest player to feature for Estudiantes, and after 22 appearances for the first team, he’s now heading to Manchester City.
Even though there are no other details on the transfer, outlet TyC Sports brings their own story with a little more information, and explain Pep Guardiola’s side are spending over US$6m plus bonuses for the winger.
Manchester City’s interest in Sarmiento had been reported by the Argentine media since last year.
There had been many claims on the club’s efforts to get the teenager, and back in December, newspaper El Dia had already reported an agreement worth €6m.
Since there are still other clauses to be revealed, we’ll be waiting for the local press to come up with more news on the transfer.
