Boca Juniors have reportedly found a deal for the signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion, according to the Argentine Press.

Marca claims the Buenos Aires side will have the player on a one-year loan deal, after winning the competition against several Argentine sides.

Brighton signed Mac Allister on a €8m deal from Argentinos Juniors back in January. However, they haven’t been able to bring him to England due to the lack of a work permit.

Since it seems the player is not getting the documentation so soon, the Premier League side have decided to keep the player in Argentina for an extra more.

The Argentine press had been reporting that Mac Allister’s current (or former club), Argentinos Juniors, were in pole position in case Brighton would loan him for only six more months.

So if the Seagulls decided for a longer spell, that’s probably because they don’t have any hope that his documentation will be sorted soon.

Speaking to the local media this week, his father admitted that they haven’t even started the process to get an EU passport, and it could take up to a year to get things sorted.

Argentinos Juniors, San Lorenzo, Independiente, Racing and Estudiantes were the other sides who were said to be competing for the signing.
