It’s usually a player’s head and heart which end up set on a transfer and lead to an eventual move, but Mundo Deportivo have a twist on that in their Thursday edition.
The Catalan newspaper are busy dismissing the idea Phillippe Coutinho could consider any other transfer option than Barcelona. Mundo Deportivo claim ‘sources close to the player’ have reaffirmed Coutinho’s desire for a Liverpool transfer in January, and his ‘eyes and ears’ are set on Barca.
To make sure his stance is fully understood and not forgotten about, it’s claimed Coutinho is using every opportunity to remind Jurgen Klopp that he wants a Liverpool exit in January.
That brings up thoughts of the Brazilian following Klopp around Melwood continually asking “Jurgen, can I go, please, ah come on Kloppo, just say yes”.
Unfortunately Mundo Deportivo don’t go as far as to describe the situation in such specifics, but there’s surely time for that between now and January.
Aside from dismissing any notion that Coutinho has softened on his planned Liverpool transfer, or is wavering on the potential destination, Mundo Deportivo don’t add anything much that hasn’t already been said a hundred times before. Now, it can all be said a hundred times more before the winter market.
