West Ham United midfielder Thomas Soucek has insisted he is not worried about his form at the beginning of this season.
The Hammers sit 18th in the Premier League table after seven games of the season, with just one win to their name so far.
They’ve drawn one and lost the other five, with David Moyes and his side struggling to replicate their form from last season.
Soucek has been one of those struggling to hit the heights thus far, with just one goal in seven games to his name.
For him it’s been a continuing of middling form that plagued him in the second half of last season, when he managed just two goals between January and the end of the season in May.
It’s seen the Czech Republic international come in for criticism from West Ham fans, with many frustrated by his performances given he managed ten goals and one assist in his first full season at the club.
It seems the West Ham man is not concerned, though, insisting this dip in form is just part and parcel of being a footballer.
“Some of us don’t do well in clubs, things just happened that way,” Sport.cz report him saying.
“It’s football. Sometimes you’re up, sometimes you’re down. I believe we will show strength as one team. I believe we are in great shape.
“There is an excellent atmosphere in the team, we want to transfer it to the pitch.”
