Earlier this week, Sky Deutschland reported Manchester United have initiated contact for Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel.
It was also stated the striker is aware of the Red Devils interest but wants to continue with the Bundesliga winners.
SportBild state Manchester United are ‘hot’ for the 18-year-old, and discuss his chances of staying at the Bavarian club beyond this season.
The France U21 international has featured 28 times in all competitions, managing six goals and four assists in the process. His game time has been limited and it doesn’t include a single league start this season.
It’s said Manchester United are keen and are putting out feelers for the frontman. They add that ‘something has changed’ and he’s now ‘seriously thinking’ about changing clubs in the summer, due to a lack of game time.
His agent, Gadiri Camara, recently told SportBild that Tel could consider leaving Bayern.
“Sometimes you just have to have the feeling that you are on the same path. We’ll see very soon, I’m confident. But if not, we have to consider all options because Mathys knows that he’s valuable and will be a top player,” he said.
Bayern have announced that Thomas Tuchel will step down at the end of this season, and it needs to be seen if that increases Tel’s chances of staying at the Allianz Arena.
SportBild suggest the incoming manager could give Tel opportunities and that may improve his chances of featuring regularly next season.
In the background, Manchester United are ‘hot’ and are keen on securing the Frenchman’s services. Erik ten Hag’s side aren’t the only English club to have shown interest in Tel.
