Timothy Fosu-Mensah potentially moving to Hertha Berlin has been bouncing around the German media for the past few days. Sky Deutschland first presented the move as almost a done deal, but a source informed Sport Witness that things weren’t quite that certain.

Hertha Berlin are absolutely one of the options for Fosu-Mensah, on a loan move, but not the only one.

Monday’s edition of German magazine Kicker goes over the situation and how useful the Dutchman could be for Hertha.

Explaining he could be ‘a solution to three problems’, it’s Fosu-Mensah’s versatility which is attracting the Bundesliga club so much. Kicker call the Manchester United player a ‘Defensiv-Allrounder’ and whilst there’s confidence a deal could be done, it’s not stated that one has been completed yet.

If Jose Mourinho doesn’t see a role at Old Trafford for Fosu-Mensah next season then a loan to Hertha doesn’t sound a bad idea, as long as there’s assurances over how the player will be used.

With Hertha concentrating on the versatility, the last thing Manchester United want is the 20 year old being used as cover and not getting consistent minutes.
