For a brief period, it seemed like Valentino Lazaro was heading to the north of England, with Steve Bruce and Newcastle United the lucky recipients of his services.

However, Monday saw a number of stories suggesting RB Leipzig had joined the mix, while West Ham were still hovering, complicating things somewhat.

Then, on Tuesday morning, the player’s agent, Max Hagmayr, made it clear a deal with Newcastle hadn’t been struck, explaining they ‘haven’t reached an agreement’.

He confirmed other clubs were looking at his client, emphasising the fact there was more than one option at his disposal.

This suggested the Magpies had yet to satisfy the player’s camp, and it appears Hagmayr is continuing his tour of Europe by visiting Bologna’s headquarters.

The agent posted this on his Instagram, and while there’s no actual suggestion he’s there for Lazaro, his travelling certainly isn’t for anyone else at this moment in time.
