Sky Germany are reporting on Tuesday morning that Arsenal’s Serge Gnabry is set to sign for German giants Bayern Munich. Gnabry impressed in Rio with Germany’s Olympic team and that inevitably led to rumours he could be moving to the Bundesliga.
Several clubs have been linked with moves for the player, and it was thought he could extend his contract with Arsenal, which ends next June, and then leave for the Bundesliga on loan for a season.
However, it doesn’t look like that’s the case. Sky Germany say he’s off to Bayern Munich, who will in turn then loan the player to Werder Bremen. Sky have shared the news via Twitter.

It sounds like a blow for Arsenal, surely they’d have preferred to loan him to Werder Bremen.
There were a few articles in Germany during the Olympics, and certainly chatter from pundits, asking why Arsenal and Arsene Wenger hadn’t already utilised Gnabry, and this all appears to be the follow on from his impressive performances.
