One of the hot topics this summer has been Matthijs de Ligt, who is linked with Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Manchester United.

Earlier reports indicated the Ajax captain will make a decision on his future after the Nations League, but the 19-year-old has revealed there’s no timeline on when a decision will be made.

On the front page of Sport, it’s claimed the La Liga winners are ‘annoyed’ and ‘tired of waiting’ for the centre-back following his latest comments.

The Netherlands international was close to joining Ernesto Valverde’s side at one time, but he distanced himself from the Blaugrana and his signing is ‘very, very complicated’ now as he is negotiating with other clubs.

At the Camp Nou, they believe if the Dutch sensation was keen on joining the club, his deal would have already been concluded.

Despite the current situation, Barcelona have not ruled out the defender’s transfer, but ‘no madness will be done’ to bring him to the club.

Barca made their last offer over a month ago, and a week ago they made it clear to Mino Raiola they will not submit an improved one. There have been no contacts between the two parties since they last made a proposal.

The Spanish champions believe either Juventus or PSG will win the race for De Ligt after they agree a deal with Ajax.

Barcelona had already agreed a deal with Ajax, but they have so far failed to convince the player to join them.

With the current situation, the Catalan side are ‘quite pessimistic’ about De Ligt playing for them next season, despite making it clear that he would be an important player for them.

Sport end their report by claiming ‘the interest continues, but the conditions are not the best to sign him.’
