A couple of days ago, the Liverpool Echo published a story looking at potential signings should Dejan Lovren leave Liverpool this summer.

The defender has been linked with several clubs, mainly in Italy, and there’s a reasonable chance his time at Anfield is coming to an end.

One of the players suggested was Zou Feddal, who currently plays for Real Betis.

This has been picked up by the Spanish sport media, yet instead of explaining how hard it would be for Liverpool to sign the player, AS do the opposite.

Feddal, 31 years of age, isn’t considered a ‘fixed’ player for Betis manager Rubi. He’s not an ever present player, and there’s been concerns about his injury record.

With a contract expiring in June 2021, the Seville club need to make a decision on his future soon, and it’s made clear that a sale wouldn’t be blocked. AS even state Betis are open to selling, as long as they cover the €2.5m they paid for him three seasons ago after he impressed for Alaves.

All this makes a Liverpool move sound very easy, although there’s a suggestion he may not be up to it, with AS saying a move to the Reds would be an ‘unexpected jump’ in the player’s career.
