On Thursday, we covered the latest from Brazil regarding the interest of Internacional in Wesley Moraes.

The striker is currently on loan at Club Brugge from Aston Villa, but he hasn’t managed to establish himself as a starter with the Belgian club, so a new avenue was being explored for him to get regular game time.

Having already played for the Villans and the Jupiler Pro League side, a move outside of Europe was needed, which is when half of his home country started taking an interest.

In the end, it appears Internacional will win the race, with Globo Esporte backing up claims from Correio do Povo that a move is just around the corner.

In fact, the outlet go as far as saying that everyone has ‘already reached an agreement’ and ‘only the signing of the contract is missing’.

As for the deal itself, it ‘doesn’t include a purchase option at the end of the loan period’, meaning he would return to Aston Villa.

For them, much like what Correio do Povo said, the deal should be finalised ‘in the coming days’.
