The rumours linking Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie to Aston Villa aren’t being taken very seriously by the Italian media.
It’s Milan Live who today feature a story about the player. They take claims from newspaper Corriere dello Sport which say the 25-year-old could be between Inter Milan and AC Milan, as a departure from the Camp Nou is a possibility.
Following his arrival at Barcelona this summer, the midfielder is struggling to show his importance to Xavi’s side. He has 13 appearances for the club so far, and has lately suffered with injury issues.
The report claims Kessie continues to work to ‘convince’ at the Camp Nou, but while that doesn’t happen, his agent is said to be looking for a new club.
His salary of €6.5m per season is a reason for Italian clubs to be cautious about the move, as they’d rather have him on a loan where Barcelona continue to pay part of his wages.
Maybe that’s where Aston Villa could step in with a better offer to the Catalan side.
