Wilfred Ndidi curiously having his medical with Leicester City this week, in a big few days for his current club Genk, hasn’t gone down well with everyone.

From a Genk perspective it’s understandably annoying for fans that the club let a star player go and complete a Leicester medical way before it needed to be done.

There are games to play, he could even get injured, and Claudio Ranieri can’t register his man until the January window is open.

Genk boss Peter Maes has spoken to Het Belang van Limburg and told them Ndidi was back in training on Tuesday and his head is completely focused on the task at hand. That will be little comfort to Genk fans until they see the proof from the Leicester bound player on the pitch.

It’s a strange situation, and maybe the reasons for the early Leicester medical will become clear in time.
