Leicester City’s Rachid Ghezzal was able to enjoy regular playing time and also shine for Beşiktaş during his season-long loan stay with them last term.
The winger managed eight goals and 18 assists in the league as the Black Eagles ended up winning the title and the Turkish Cup.
Beşiktaş are keen on retaining the 29-year-old and have held several talks with the Foxes, while there were rumours of interest from Galatasaray, Hertha Berlin and others.
Four days ago, Foot Mercato reported the player is ‘one step away’ from joining the Turkish champions on a permanent transfer.
Their journalist, Sébastien Denis, took to Twitter to report the Algeria international is currently in Lyon and is ‘expected’ to make a trip to Istanbul later today to complete his move to Beşiktaş.

According to Denis, the ‘signature is imminent’ and Ghezzal’s signing will cost the Süper Lig side around €4m [€3m + €1m] including bonuses.
Prior to deciding to join Beşiktaş, the Foot Mercato journalist adds Ghezzal ‘turned down’ Galatasaray and Hertha Berlin.
