Reports in the Turkish media suggest Galatasaray have an agreement to sign Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva, but are yet to receive a green signal from Liverpool.

Apparently, Galatasaray have set a deadline of Monday for Liverpool to make a decision before they move on to other targets.

According to AMK Spor in Turkey, Galatasaray will try to sign Bastian Schweinsteiger should they fail to sign Lucas  Leiva.

The former Bayern Munich star has been forced to train with the reserves, and doesn’t seem to be a part of Jose Mourinho’s future plans.

AMK Spor suggest Galatasaray could ask Manchester United to pay a portion of Schweinsteiger’s wages. The Turkish giants are hoping to raise money from shirt sales should they sign the German midfielder, there’s no explanation whether this is factored into their current Nike shirt deal.

Schweinsteiger signed for Manchester United last summer, and is reportedly on very high wages.
