Sheffield United are one of several Premier League clubs to have been linked with Antonio Valencia, but they may be the only one left standing.

Ecuador’s Tera Deportes have covered rumours the former Manchester United player could join Liga de Quito.

That’s just one of several options, with there being MLS interest, Galatasaray claims, and also Sheffield United, who have ‘submitted a proposal’ to the free agent.

Valencia is in no rush to make his mind up, wanting to wait until after the Copa America to decide his next step. Ecuador are facing Japan (who have been invited as an outsider), Uruguay and Chile in the group stage.

Those finishing in the top two will qualify for the quarterfinals, and the two best third placed teams also go through from the three groups.

There’s a reasonable chance Ecuador will do it, and would then be in the quarterfinals at the end of June.
