Enjoying his first full season as a starter with Stade de Reims, Axel Disasi has been one of the Ligue 1 side’s revelations this season.
At 21 years of age, the young centre-back has started all 26 games his team have played this season, scoring one goal, and impressed greatly with his performances.
Disasi stepped in after Björn Engels was sold to Aston Villa, and he could soon follow in the Belgian’s footsteps with Sheffield United interested in his services.
The news comes from Made in Foot in France, who cover the story as an exclusive, claiming ‘many clubs from the British elite’ have followed the youngster’s performances, but it’s Chris Wilder’s side who are set to make the first move.
The website explain Sheffield United are ‘readying an €11m offer, bonuses aside’ for the defender, as they look to continue their good form into the second half of the season.
The big question now is, once that bid is made, whether or not Reims will be able to resist the temptation to cash in on Disasi midway through the season or simply stand firm, hold onto him and hope they can sell him for more in the summer.
One to keep an eye on as we edge closer to the end of the January transfer window.
