Exceeding all expectations in the Premier League following their promotion, Sheffield United decided to spend some more money in January to bolster their squad.
Sander Berge was signed for a club record fee, while Jack Robinson arrived from Nottingham Forest and Richairo Zivkovic was loaned from Changchun Yatai.
Oh, and Jack Rodwell signed on a free.
The spending isn’t going to stop there either, if GSP in Romania are to be believed, as they claim Steaua Bucharest received a €16m ‘written offer’ from the Blades for their starlet Florinel Coman.
The 21-year-old has been in fine form in Liga 1 this year, scoring 10 goals and assisting another nine in 19 league appearances, which is why Sheffield United are circling.
It’s stated that if George Becali, the club’s owner, accepts the bid, the move would take place in the summer.
That’s all the information they give, only adding that Coman is one of Becali’s favourites at the club, suggesting it might be a bit tougher to prise him away.
We’ll have to wait and see about that for the time being, but, if true, this latest move shows how ambitious Chris Wilder and co. are being on the transfer market these days.
