If there’s one thing Sheffield United appear to enjoy doing during the January transfer window, it’s bringing players in on loan from remote places.
Last year was Richairo Zivkovic coming in from Changchun Yatai, who ended up making five appearances in all competitions.
This time around, it appears like it could Adolfo Gaich from CSKA Moscow.
That’s according to Russian website Metaratings, who claim, as their own information, that the Argentine striker, who arrived in the summer for a fee of €8m, ‘may go on loan to a club in the Premier League’.
It’s said the Blades already wanted the 21-year-old last autumn, but CSKA refused that, but their stance have changed, as they now ‘do not mind’ him continuing his career in England.
Considering Sheffield United have scored a grand total of eight goals this season, you would think they would aim for a prolific striker, but the fact Gaich has failed to find the back of the net in 13 league appearances this season makes this move a bit of a head scratcher.
Maybe Wilder knows exactly how to get him going?
