Sheffield United Women striker Veatriki Sarri has spoken to Greek newspaper FOS and said he would like to play for Arsenal one day.
The 22 year old Greek striker joined Sheffield United in 2019, and said her dream is to play for Arsenal’s Women team: “I’m an Olympiacos fan and if they build a women’s team then I would like to play. However, I am 22 years old now and I am currently playing in England. I want to succeed here. Arsenal is my dream team.
“They are the biggest team in England in terms of women’s football. Arsenal is also the team that I have been supporting since my childhood.”
Speaking about her current team, Sarri said Sheffield United have big aspirations for the future: “We are in the Championship at the moment. We are working a lot. Our goal is to improve, and we have big aspirations for the future.”
Sarri stated her career at Leeds United Women before getting a move to Fylde in 2017. The youngster spent just one season with the Lancashire club before she signed for Sheffield United in 2018.
She’s been part of the Yorkshire side’s push for promotion to the Super League this season and they currently lie 2nd in the Championship table.
She’s represented the senior Greek national side on eight occasions after making her debut in 2015.
