Sheffield United have ‘entered the dance’ for Club Brugge forward Emmanuel Dennis but face competition from Atalanta.

That’s according to Walfoot, who say the Blades are keen on the Nigerian as they look for ‘offensive reinforcements’ this summer.

The website explains that the striker is close to a departure from the Belgian club this summer, with sources telling them that Atalanta are close to paying his asking price, which ‘oscillates’ between €15-20m.

However, the deal hasn’t been finalised yet, and the player has not reached an agreement with the Italian club as he wants ‘guarantees’ about the Coronavirus situation in the city.

Negotiations have also been stalled because Sheffield United have ‘entered the dance’ in ‘recent days’.

They are looking to add extra firepower to their forward line after managing just 39 goals in the league last season and seem to believe the forward, who managed nine goals in 33 games last season, is an option.

Walfoot believe Denis ‘could hesitate’ between the two clubs, although Atalanta do have the advantage of Champions League football.

Either way, Sheffield United are apparently interested, although whether they’ll be willing to pay the asking price remains to be seen.
