Turkish website Fotospor claim Sheffield United are keeping tabs on Fenerbahce’s young goalkeeper Altay Bayindir ahead of the summer transfer window.
Chris Wilder’s side have been defying expectations since promotion to the Premier League, and are currently in a strong position to qualify for European football next season.
It’s likely they will want to strengthen their squad in the summer, and Fotospor claim Bayindir is a target for the Blades.
The Turkish website report Sheffield United will struggle to keep hold of Dean Henderson, who’s currently on loan from Manchester United, and are currently looking for goalkeepers with a similar profile, such as Bayindir.
The 21 year old joined Fener from Ankaragucu for €1.5m at the start of the season and he’s been performing well for his new club.
Bayindir was linked with a move to Manchester United last month after claims the Premier League giants are scouting him. That felt unlikely, and Henderson’s situation may well depend on David De Gea’s form between now and the end of the season.
Altay Bayindir’s contract with Fenerbahce will expire at the end of June 2023.
