Earlier this summer we brought you talk from Spain that newly promoted Sheffield United are keen on Loren from Betis.
Last week we followed that up with new details on the potential move, with Informa Betis saying Real Betis had offered the player around.
The La Liga club have offered him to West Ham United, who view him as an alternative to Maxi Gomez, while Sheffield United, Espanyol, Osasuna and Granada are all interested parties too.
Univision have now taken the story further and claim that the Blades have made an official approach for the striker.
They claim that Chris Wilder’s side have offered ‘more than €25m’ for the 25-year-old. That price is considered a good one for the club.
That last bit seems a bit odd seeing as earlier reports claimed he has a €40m release clause in his contract, which he signed last year.
However, as is often the case those prices are often huge just so clubs can negotiate a good deal and €25m for a 25-year-old with 15 goals in 60 La Liga games is a very good one indeed.
In fact, it seems to be good to be true for Betis, which could suggest it’s been plucked from thin air.
Whether West Ham come knocking remains to be seen. It will also be interesting to see if Loren wants to leave, given he rejected a Premier League move last summer and has reiterated his desire to stay more than once.
