Only a couple of days ago, Marca published an article explaining just how much Deportivo La Coruna are missing Lucas Perez.
The club’s best player moved to Arsenal during the summer transfer window, and up until last night they hadn’t managed to score a goal since.
Joselu was brought in from Stoke City on loan as a replacement, but he was injured on his first outing and faces several months out.
On Thursday night, Depor managed to get the ball into the back of the net, at home against Leganes. But they lost to the newly promoted team, so more gloom for the club.
Marca on Friday explain: ‘Without Lucas, no paradise – Lucas Perez’s shadow is long. Yesterday Depor scored again for the first time since the striker decided to head to Arsenal, but remained winless since the frontman left the team.’
Depor’s next La Liga match is away to Atletico Madrid on Sunday. Diego Simeone’s men face Bayern Munich in the Champions League a few days later, Depor will be hoping they rest a few players… maybe the whole defence?
