Youssef En Nesyri was the protagonist of a big move in the January transfer window, having left Leganes to join Sevilla in a €20m deal.
The 22-year-old had already scored four goals in the first part of the season, and last weekend, he found the net for his new club for the first time.
That’s a reason why Estádio Deportivo made a big interview with him this week, and they’ve even recalled that En-Nesyri could be somewhere else these days, had he passed his trials at Chelsea.
The outlet asked the player if it’s true he trained with the Stamford Bridge side before moving to Spain, and they say that was the first time when he smiled during the interview.
“Yes. I went to London for three weeks. And the truth is that it was very cold there, I didn’t feel comfortable either,” En-Nesyri told Estadio Deportivo.
En-Nesyri has left Morocco to join Malaga’s academy back in 2015, and has made a career in Spanish football since then. He moved to Leganes in a €6m deal in 2018, and then joined Sevilla last month.
