Sevilla’s Joan Jordán is doubtful to face Manchester United in the Europa League on Thursday.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who state the midfielder was ‘absent from training’ on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old missed the league tie against Celta Vigo and the 2-2 draw against Manchester United due to discomfort in the Achilles tendon. He returned to action and played 68 minutes in his side’s win over Valencia last weekend.
Despite this, there are concerns over his availability to face the Red Devils in the midweek European clash.
Prior to the first leg at Old Trafford, Jordán featured in every European fixture [including six Champions League games] for the Andalusian club this season. If he were to miss the return leg against Manchester United, it would be a concern for José Luis Mendilibar.
Pape Gueye and Jesús Manuel Corona won’t be available for selection as they were left out of Sevilla’s Europa League squad, while Gonzalo Montiel will miss tomorrow’s tie due to suspension.
Manchester United gave away a two-goal lead and settled for a 2-2 draw against Sevilla at home. Erik ten Hag and his men would be hoping to avoid a similar situation and seal a win to progress to the semi-final.
