Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf are talking up a Tottenham Hotspur transfer for Steven Bergwijn.
It’s claimed Spurs are looking for an attacking addition given the impending transfer of Christian Eriksen to Inter Milan this month. Spurs have also been linked strongly with a striker purchase, with Real Sociedad’s Willian Jose thought to be the target.
Bergwijn is a flexible player and can operate in a number of attacking positions, so would be a versatile option for manager Jose Mourinho.
De Telegraaf state that ‘several sources’ close to PSV report the 22 year old is out of PSV’s match against FC Twente today.
Tottenham want the signing ‘immediately’ and the player also wants a move to the Premier League club.
Bergwijn has come through the ranks at PSV, having moved to their youth system from Ajax’s as a youngster. The Dutchman has played 16 Eredivisie games for his club this season, scoring five goals and adding ten assists in the process.
