Real Betis remain keen on a deal for Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso but ‘several would have to leave’ the club before they can move.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who say the Argentinian has a ‘prominent place’ in the Spanish side’s plans, but they currently need to focus on departures.
They explain that Lo Celso is ‘one of the hidden names’ on the agenda at the club if they can secure the necessary movements out of the squad in terms of opening salary space and non-EU player positions currently occupied by Willian Jose, Abner Vinicius and Luiz Henrique.
The Tottenham man remains a favourite at the club after a spell there between 2018 and 2020 when he initially joined on loan from PSG before making the move permanent in 2019.
He managed 16 goals and six assists in 45 games for the club before eventually joining Tottenham, a transfer that has not worked out for either party.
Betis ‘yearn’ to bring him back and have him on their list but for now, like most Spanish sides, need to focus on outgoings before they can make a move.
