Wolves fans probably don’t know an awful lot about Enzo Sauvage.
The 18 year old striker has had a start to his career which doesn’t fit with the norm. At SC Air Bel in France he left to join the Nike Academy with the aim of winning a professional contract.
French newspaper La Provence report that whilst there, Sauvage caught the eye of a string of clubs, naming them as Wigan, Barnsley, Southampton, Swansea and Manchester United.
Trials were offered and after some thinking, the youngster decided to go for another option and join Wolves. Officials from the Championship club are said to have been ‘seduced’ by the striker and offered him a three year contract, which he signed.
Sauvage wasn’t able to play for Wolves until he turned 18 years of age in December, and has since been representing the club at youth level, as well as training with higher levels including the first team.
“He knows how to do everything: he knows how to protect his ball, he knows how to move, he knows how to participate in the game, he knows how to play and score, he has a huge shot, he can shoot from all angles, he knows how to score penalties, he goes fast, he has the sense of sacrifice, he can do the pressing… I can only be excited about him. And if he works properly, I weigh my words, he must go all the way.”
That sounds like quite a reference for the Wolves youngster.
