Sunderland have been strongly linked to Torino’s Davide Zappacosta. It has been reported Torino want €10m for the Italian defender, and that Sunderland are ready to meet the asking price.
Sassuolo and Fiorentina are also interested in the player, and that could be a problem for Sunderland.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio, Torino and Fiorentina have been discussing a swap deal between Davide Zappacosta and Nenad Tomovic.
Torino boss Sinisa Mihajlovic is apparently keen on signing Tomovic, and that could be a stumbling block for Sunderland.
Di Marzio says Sunderland have already offered €10m for Zappacosta, and it remains to be seen if they can convince Torino and the player.
Earlier, Gazzetta dello Sport first Sunderland’s €10m offer for Zappacosta, and there hasn’t been any real update since then.
Zappacosta only signed for Torino last summer in a €5m deal, and it appears he is set to leave the club as he doesn’t feature in Sinisa Mihajlovic’s plans for the season.
