If FC Inter News are to be believed, then Tottenham’s demands for Mousa Dembélé have dropped, opening the door for Inter a bit more.

According to the website, at 6pm Friday time (when the Chinese Super League transfer window shuts), if the Belgium international has not agreed to a move to China, Piero Ausilio, the Serie A side’s director of football, will make his move to try and convince Tottenham to sell their midfielder.

Starting from next week, the Italian club ‘will try to make the decisive thrust’, hoping to pay less than the €20m Spurs are asking for.

This is a bit of a drop from the €30m being reported elsewhere, and Inter would ideally like to only spend €10-15m on 30-year-old, whose contract with Tottenham ends in 2019.

It was mentioned on Thursday that Inter could end up trying to get Dembélé on a loan with a view to buy, but with just the one year left on his deal in England, that wouldn’t make a lot of sense.

All we can say to Inter is good luck in their attempts to talk Daniel Levy into lowering his demands for the midfielder.
