Once said to be included in the negotiations sending Felipe Anderson to West Ham, Jordan Lukaku still hasn’t left Lazio despite strong suggestions he would be doing so this summer.
A transfer to the Premier League, where his brother plays for Manchester United, is the left-back’s favoured move, but the offers have dried up a bit.
According to Corriere della Sera’s Roma edition, the player is ‘practically out of the squad’, currently waiting on a deal to materialise, and, to no surprise, they state it’ll ‘probably’ be to England, where he ‘could end up at Everton’.
The defender is said to have recently visited his brother in Los Angeles, and there’s a good chance they spoke about his future, where he could have been told a move to Goodison Park would be a good idea.
That’s just us speculating after Romelu’s good seasons in an Everton shirt, but there’s also the fact Marco Silva will have to start thinking about finding a replacement for Leighton Baines at some point in the near future.
As for West Ham’s interest, the fact the Hammers didn’t follow through with Lazio’s proposed double deal suggests they might not be entirely convinced.
That, or they’re a bit short of cash for the time being.
