West Ham’s Simone Zaza has had a difficult start to his career in the Premier League, and has failed to find the back of the net in four appearances so far. The Italian striker was signed on loan from Juventus, which will become permanent once he makes a handful more appearances for the Hammers.

However, reports in the Italian media claim Zaza could now return to Italy, with AC Milan interested in his services. According to Premium Sports (via Calciomercato.it), AC Milan are working on bringing Zaza back to Italy in January.

It’s reported the mandatory purchase option will be triggered once Zaza makes 15 appearances for the Hammers, but the reports states a January transfer could still be possible because Zaza ‘has not linked’ with the club’s fans.

Another option for AC Milan is Michy Batshuayi on a loan, in the case Antonio Conte believes he’s surplus to requirements come January, and the Belgium striker decides he needs to move to get time on the pitch.
