Chelsea are set to part ways with either Marcos Alonso or Emerson Palmieri in the next window, if various reports coming out of Italy are to be believed.

The duo are linked with a return to Serie A and this would force the Blues to bring in a replacement.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Atalanta’s Robin Gosens has emerged as a target for the Blues and they are thinking ‘more and more’ about him to replace either Alonso or Plamieri.

Borussia Dortmund and Schalke are looking at the fullback, who is backed to make his debut for Germany soon.

However, Frank Lampard’s side have ‘already taken the first steps’ to sign the 25-year-old and the Atalanta star is the ‘first name’ on Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia’s list of left-back targets.

The report states the player, who has eight goals and five assists in all competitions this season could leave the Italian club for a figure above €20m.

TMW, however, add Gosens isn’t the only target for the west London club as they are also looking at FC Porto’s Alex Telles and Juventus’ Alex Sandro.
