All around Europe today, many players are entering the final year of their contracts. Those expiring on June 30th 2025 are now officially in their final year, and that puts some pressure on their clubs.

Others can take advantage, such is the case of West Ham United and Youssef En-Nesyri. The Hammers have been keen for years, with endless claims of offers, and the player himself turning the club down on at least one occasion.

Monday’s edition of Diario de Sevilla says the striker’s agents are aware that it’s now the time to find a new club, if only to make sure his future is protected by a longer contract.

The 27-year-old scored 26 goals last season, in a very poor campaign for Sevilla, and still has a market. As he gets older that will diminish so this summer is important.

West Ham get a mention, and it’s stated Sevilla want €20-25m. There’s been hope for more than that but they haven’t had any offers yet and the sale is a ‘matter of capital importance’.

Essentially, they need to sell En-Nesyri this summer.

The longer this drags on then the more power is handed to clubs like West Ham, and the prospect of a bargain becomes even bigger.
