On Tuesday we covered claims from Italy of interest from Aston Villa and West Ham in Krzysztof Piatek.
That continued on Wednesday as Sportmediaset reported the Midlands club has put forward a proposal to buy the player outright for a figure between €28m and €30m.
Less than a year ago, Piatek was a hero at AC Milan, having signed from Genoa and hit the ground running. Indeed, last season the striker scored 30 times in 42 matches.
This season Piatek has four goals in 18 appearances, and Milan are ready to move him on. Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s arrival means they can do without him, and they quite fancy a big chunk of money for the Poland international.
Beppe Bergomi, an Italian football pundit and former Inter Milan player, believes that should the Aston Villa offer exist, then Milan should snatch it without thinking too much.
Quoted by Milan News, he said: “If Aston Villa has really put €30m on the plate for Piatek, sell him in a hurry. It is a sensational figure for the performance that he’s having this season.”
That may be a little harsh, and Piatek will hope that should he leave Milan this month he can make a few people eat their words.
