For all the criticism Ajax may deserve for their Davinson Sanchez negotiating tactics, and the transparency of some tricks, one man without blame is Marcel Keizer, the club’s first team manager.

Keizer has had the player taken away from him, and when expecting Sanchez’a availability for the match against Rosenborg on Thursday evening, the manager had to deal with the defender’s no-show.

Sanchez was frustrated with how Ajax were handling Tottenham talks, and failed to show at the club’s hotel.

Now with a move to Tottenham agreed, Keizer has been asked his opinion about it. Nu in the Netherlands, another one to cover the Tottenham agreement, quote Keizer as saying: “The transfer of Sanchez is not yet official, but it seems that he leaves. I’m assuming the rest stay.”

There’s still no talk in the Dutch media of Sanchez travelling to Tottenham for a medical, but Spurs don’t seem to be in a great rush to get the deal over the line. If anything, Ajax would the club more eager to move on quickly.

Keizer hopes Sanchez will be the last he loses, but the Dutch media suspect there’s a good chance that won’t be the case.
