Crystal Palace currently have only one out-and-out left-back option in Tyrick Mitchell and that is why they could look to sign another left-back this summer.
Robin Gosens, who has previously starred at Atalanta and also had a stint at Inter Milan, is one name who has been linked with the Eagles despite usually playing further forward.
We previously looked at a claim from Marco Conterio about Palace’s interest in Gosens and the suggestion was that Oliver Glasner’s side were waiting for Marc Guehi’s exit to make an actual offer.
Union boss Bo Svensson spoke to Sky Germany, as relayed by Florian Plettenberg, and he made it clear that the full-back should be staying.
He said: “He has a long contract and had a great preparation. I had great conversations with him. As a coach, I think he is a very important player for us. I see no reason to let him go.”
Those quotes don’t seem to leave too much room for uncertainty and the likelihood is that the ex-Atalanta man would be staying in Berlin.
Gosens’ current deal at Union runs out in the summer of 2028 and that could be another complexity regarding his exit.
Given his mixed season during the last campaign, links to Crystal Palace did look overly fortunate for Gosens.
