A couple of weeks ago, RMC Sport claimed that Everton had made a move for Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucouré, only for both the club and the player to reject the offer.

The midfielder was said to want to stay with the Hornets for an extra year to build on his successful 2017-18 campaign before making his big move elsewhere.

Well, fast forward to this week, and the Toffees are still keen on trying to sign the former French U21 international, as France Football claim he’s one of the profiles ‘appreciated’ by Marco Silva over at Goodison Park.

Whether this is them going off RMC Sport’s previous claim or the information they’ve received, we don’t know, but there’s no reference to anything, meaning they probably got hold of this bit of news recently.

This can either be seen as a confirmation of what their competition previously reported, or just France Football arriving late on the scene, as there’s no mention of a previous bid.

Either way, Everton seem to well and truly be interested in Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucouré.
